On Friday (Oct. 23), Colin's entire school ventured to the NC Zoo in Asheboro. Andy took the day off work so we were able to go as a family. Prior to the trip, I have to say that I was a little anxious thinking that this many kids in one place is bound to be chaotic and stressful. I was certainly proven wrong. The weather was perfect, despite a few clouds and minimal raindrops. Families went their own ways once inside the gate. Lunch was organized and delivered in a timely manner. We had a fabulous time. We were able to see every animal up close except the rhinoceros and elk. Although quite a few other animals were in a deep snooze! Colin soaked in every site he could, wondering what animal lurked around the corner. Evan remained content and happy, given the fact he was unable to nap until the ride home. Andy and I enjoyed every minute of the entire day!

Wild Wild Weather
What a month of inconsistent weather! Warm - Cold - Rainy - Really Cold - Warm again. Throughout every season, God reveals His wonder to us in extraordinary ways. Despite several cloudy, dreary days, the moon was able to linger one evening in the sky for a short while. It was picture perfect. Even after a recent hard rain, Colin and I captured a glimpse of a beautiful rainbow behind the trees. This time of year - Fall - another season of change - can feed our soul. I want to share with the boys that as God decorates our earth in a new way each day, He desires to do the same with our hearts. Colin and Evan certainly love being outdoors. We are taking in all that surrounds us as often as we can.

Way to go Dad!
On August 10, after 10 years as a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer, Andy was promoted to Sergeant. We couldn't be more proud! Andy - thank you for being such a loving husband and father. Evan and Colin are so lucky to have a wonderful role model to call dad!

All I ever needed to know, I learned in kindergarten
Colin began a new chapter in his life several weeks ago as he walked right through the doors of kindergarten. Time has sure flown by. What a bitter-sweet moment it was for Andy and I to leave him that morning. We were so proud, yet so sad that those preschool years are behind us. He is enjoying every new day and embracing all he is learning. For that we are ever so thankful.
Ready...Set...Blog!
I have finally broken down and started this blog for our family. After seeing many of our friends with fabulous blogs, sharing the journeys of their family, Andy has nudged me to create one. The first thought that I had was.....of course....let's add one more thing to my plate. However, I have realized that this can actually be therapeutic for me as I share the moments from my heart that are captured in the "Halls" of this family.
