Baseball Diamonds are a Boys Best Friend

What a season! Since March, Colin has lived and breathed Baseball! His rec team finished 2nd in the league. I have to brag...Colin's bat and glove have been at its' best. He had a record high batting average and was thrilled to obtain his first "grand slam" this season!
After the rec season ended, he was fortunate enough to be chosen to participate on the West Stanly American All-Star Team. That was an experience in itself. Those boys played their hearts out for 2 1/2 weeks straight and had great instruction. They finished 3rd place in the district tournament. What an accomplishment! In a matter of weeks, Fall Baseball will begin. The field seems like another "home" for us. Colin loves it. As long as he enjoys the game....we will too!

Great Expectations

It's time to say Good-bye to the school year.

Evan has finished his first year of preschool and Colin has completed 1st grade!

They have so many cherished memories and many more new friends.

I have watched them learn, grow and change from day to day. It is seeing their hearts turn to Christ that means more than anything.
They have had wonderful teachers....So it's bittersweet that they leave this school year. Sad to see this chapter close but embracing great hope and expectations for what next year will bring!

He received an award for Academic Excellence in phonics and the Fruit of the Spirit award for Goodness!

And Evan....my sweet Evan...what can I say except he keeps me on my toes. He has such a sweet spirit but is 100% all boy!!!!!

Rejoice! He has Risen!

He has risen! It’s Easter.... it is the time of year to celebrate that glorious morning when our Savior rose from the grave.

Easter was never intended to be just one day. I recently read this week in a Focus on the Family article that "For most families, including Christians, God gets an hour on Sunday, and we get the rest of the day to hunt eggs and feast on sweets. There's nothing wrong with traditional Easter celebrations; it's just that those in themselves are not enough."

Something to think about this year as Easter Sunday has passed. I want my boys to know that God's love for us is not just a sentimental "thing" but it is strong enough that he allowed His own Son to suffer on our behalf.

Easter Egg-citement

These eggs were to "dye" for! Evan had so much fun dying eggs this year. He knew which color he wanted each egg to be. Colin dyed a few himself but would rather watch his brother create his masterpieces.

REWIND

Yes, lets go back a few months. It has been a while since I have updated our blog. Time seems to fly by so quickly. These pictures will re-cap the "Hall Happenings" since February.

BASKETBALL

Colin played another season of Basketball for Stanfield. He enjoyed it. He loves any active sport. Even Evan wants to join in. It won't be long and he too will enter the world of organized sports.

SESAME STREET LIVE

We took the kids to see Elmo....well really just Evan. Colin actually did not care to go but enjoyed watching his brother get so excited over Elmo, Big Bird, Cookie Monster and the rest of the gang live on stage :)

Nature's Best just feet away...It never fails, during the winter months we can see deer almost weekly in the field behind our house...sometimes even 6-8 at a time.

GOT CHOCOLATE?????

Yes, Evan is a Chocolate Lover! He enjoys eating Nutella on a rice cake. Boy is he messy but he is enjoying every minute!

Colin: You have such a gentle heart and spirit. Your red hair and innocent smile is picture perfect! I hope you will always give those sweet hugs to mom and dad even when they may not be so "cool" anymore!

Evan: my little man... you are so loving yet so rambunctious. Your grin and sly smile is captivating! I wish I could press "pause" so you would stop growing so fast!

WHITE CHRISTMAS....well almost!

The morning after Christmas we woke up to a Winter Wonderland! Technically not a "White Christmas" but close enough!

Evan is not too sure about all this "bundling up" mommy made him do!

The gloves were pulled off within a few minutes...this is not a good sign!
